Al Roker to Receive Honors for 3 Award Wins at the TASTE AWARDS

The TASTE AWARDS Committee is pleased to announce that Al Roker will receive three awards this season. His award wins are for Best Food Program – Online or Streaming, Best Food Travel Series – Online and Streaming, and Best New Series.

Al Roker is the weather and feature anchor of NBC News’ “TODAY,” co-host of the”3rd Hour of TODAY” and a bestselling author. Roker co-hosts Sirius XM’s “Off the Rails” with Dylan Dreyer and Sheinelle Jones and hosts “Family Style with Al Roker” on TODAY All Day. Since 1985, Roker has co-hosted the annual Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting. He also co-hosts the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Rose Bowl Parade. Roker is the founder of Al Roker Entertainment, Inc. (ARE), a thriving multimedia company involved in the development and production of network, cable, home video, and public television projects.

Raised in Queens, New York, Roker received his B.A. in Communications from the State University at Oswego in 1976, and he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the school in 1998. He resides in Manhattan with his wife, ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts. Roker has two daughters and one son.

The TASTE AWARDS are pleased to pre-announce Award Winners in the Craft Award Categories for its 14th Anniversary Year.

In addition, the awards announce that this year’s 14th Anniversary Red Carpet Awards Show, Reception and Ceremony will take place on March 13, 2023 at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, the first in-person since 2020.

Portions of this event will be filmed for broadcast on various public television stations across the United States starting in April and May 2023.

TASTE AWARDS Pre-Announce Selected Winners and March 13 Date in Beverly Hills

 

The TASTE AWARDS are pleased to pre-announce Award Winners in selected categories, as well as various Special Achievement Award Honorees, and final nominees in the Craft Award Categories for its 14th Anniversary Year.

The winners also include those chosen to receive the Andrew Zimmern Discovery Award and the inaugural BOB SAGET Award for Best Comedy or Humor.

Says an Awards Committee spokesperson, “This has been a fantastic year. We are amazed by the level of quality in this year’s entries, as well as the scope and range of the diversity of the award winners in terms of gender, ethnicity, geography, organization size, and topics, more so than any current awards organization.”

TASTE AWARDS Announce The Bob Saget Award for Best Comedy and Humor

The TASTE AWARDS Committee is honored to announce the renaming of the Best Comedy Award to its new name, The Bob Saget Award for Best Comedy and Humor. The award is named after the late Bob Saget, best known for his role in the hit series Full House and its recent sequel, Fuller House.

Says A.K. Crump of the TASTE AWARDS, “We are all honored to be able to remember Bob and his contribution to our culture, to families, and to comedy with this newly renamed award.”

Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo of Eat Travel Rock, and three daughters — Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer — whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer.

TASTE AWARDS Announce First In-Person Ceremony since 2020, Extends Call for Entries

 

The TASTE AWARDS Committee is pleased to announce the first in-person awards ceremony since March 2020 will take place March 13, 2023 in Beverly Hills.

Now in its 14th year, the annual TASTE AWARDS are the premier and original awards celebrating the year’s best in Food, Fashion, Travel, Health and Lifestyle programming on Television, in Film, in Online & Streaming Video, and in Apps, Radio, Podcasts and Photography.

Portions of the live ceremony will be recorded for later broadcast in the televised awards show on select public television stations throughout the United States.

In honor of the new event date, the Committee has extended this year’s Nomination Submission period to November 2nd.

The TASTE AWARDS star-studded television special is broadcast exclusively on select public television stations nationwide, and is also viewable on the PBS App on Demand.
