The TASTE AWARDS have released the new trailer for the 9th Annual Awards. They feature many of the previous winners and nominees, plus several new additions. Take a look and see if you can spot a few.
Katy Perry Gives a new twist on the chef’s mission to make the perfectly flavored dinner in her BON APPETIT music video. This work continues her ongoing music video themes of colorful and eye catching visuals, combined with culinary references, that earned her a previous TASTE AWARD. Examples of such themes can be found in hits such as “California Girls” as well as “This is How We Do“.
Complex premieres its newest a celebrity interview series, “Complex Closets,” today giving viewers an exclusive look inside the closets of some of the most fascinating pop culture figures today. Hosted by Complex’s Joe La Puma, the series expands on the “Sneaker Shopping” franchise, the most popular sneaker style series on the web. In “Complex Closets,” La Puma visits the biggest names in music, movies, sports, and more to talk about the shoes that define their style. Today’s premiere features actor and comedian Nick Cannon giving an all-access look at his expansive collection of footwear, which ranges from customized classic sneakers to a pair of bedazzled loafers currently claiming the title of the world’s most expensive shoes.
On owning the most expensive shoes in the world:
“Obviously I’m an over-the-top dude, and I wanted to stunt. You win $1 million on America’s Got Talent if you win the show, so I was like, ‘Yo, I want to have a million dollars on each foot.’ It took a year and a half to make these, so I’ve been planning for so long. The goal is to sell them and donate all the proceeds to charity.”

The TASTE AWARDS Committee is pleased to announce new award categories have been added, including for Best Virtual Reality Film or Documentary.
The addition of the VR Category comes after last year’s awards for best Technological Innovation went to three VR companies, as well as the growing amount of VR content being created across genres.
Best VR. Any Length. Entry should be about or noticeably include visuals, topic, or content that spotlights either food, fashion, design, action sports, exercise or travel.
Other categories that have been added or revised include:
- Best Kids Programs, Films or Documentaries
- Best Action Sports, Adventure, or Outdoors Film
- Best Ethnic Lifestyle Films or Documentaries (Black/Latino/Asian)
- Music Video of the Year
